Terms of Use
Effective 5 October 2026
Mailroom is a Mac app for Gmail and Google Workspace, made by Bussgrow ("we", "us"). These terms cover your use of Mailroom and of Mailroom Pro.
In short: Mailroom works directly with your Google account from your Mac. It changes your mail only when you tell it to, and you're responsible for what you do with it. Mailroom Pro is bought through Apple, and Apple handles billing, cancellations and refunds. The app is provided as is.
Accepting these terms
By downloading or using Mailroom, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
Your license
Mailroom is licensed to you, not sold. When you download it from the Mac App Store, Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the "Standard EULA") applies, and these terms add to it. If the two conflict, the Standard EULA governs.
We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use Mailroom on Apple-branded Macs that you own or control, as allowed by the App Store's Usage Rules. You may not copy, resell, rent or redistribute the app, or reverse engineer it except where the law allows.
Your Google account
Mailroom needs a Google account (Gmail or Google Workspace). It connects directly from your Mac to Google's services; there are no Mailroom servers in between. Your use of Gmail, Google Calendar and Google Contacts through Mailroom is also subject to Google's own terms and policies, and, for a work or school account, to your organization's rules.
Mailroom is not affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by Google. Gmail and Google Workspace are trademarks of Google LLC.
What Mailroom does on your instruction
Mailroom acts on your Gmail only when you ask it to. Depending on what you do, it may:
- send messages and replies, and save drafts;
- apply and remove labels, archive, and move mail to Trash (Mailroom never permanently deletes mail);
- create Gmail filters, for example when you Block a sender in Screener (their future mail goes to Trash) or turn on Auto-Archive in Sender Cleanup;
- change your vacation responder and signatures;
- save your RSVP to a calendar invitation, after which Google notifies the organizer;
- send a one-click unsubscribe request to a sender when you click Unsubscribe.
You are responsible for the actions you take in Mailroom and for the messages you send. Changes made in Gmail, such as filters, labels and settings, are stored in your Google account and stay there even if you stop using Mailroom or remove your account from it.
Send Later and reminders
Send Later saves your message as a Gmail draft, and Mailroom sends it at the time you chose. This only works while your Mac is on and Mailroom is running. If it isn't, the message is sent the next time Mailroom runs. Snooze and Follow-up Reminders work the same way: they come back when Mailroom is running.
Because of this, we don't guarantee that a message will be sent, or a reminder will appear, at an exact time. Don't rely on Mailroom for anything where timing is critical.
Acceptable use
Please don't use Mailroom to:
- send spam or other unsolicited bulk mail;
- harass, threaten, defraud or abuse anyone;
- break Google's terms or policies, or any law;
- interfere with the app, Google's services or other people's use of them.
Mailroom Pro and purchases
Mailroom is free to use with one account and the core mail features. Mailroom Pro unlocks additional accounts and the features marked Pro, and is available as an in-app purchase:
- Subscriptions: weekly, monthly or yearly, renewing automatically. The yearly plan may include a free trial.
- Lifetime: a one-time purchase that does not renew.
Prices are shown in the app before you buy. They are set through the App Store and may vary by country or region.
About subscriptions: payment is charged to your Apple ID account when you confirm the purchase. A subscription renews automatically unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and your account is charged for the renewal within the 24 hours before the period ends. You can manage or cancel your subscription in your App Store account settings. Any unused part of a free trial is forfeited when you buy a subscription.
Purchases are processed by Apple, and refunds are handled by Apple under its own policies; we can't issue refunds ourselves. If you reinstall Mailroom or use another Mac, choose Restore Purchases in the app to unlock Pro again with the same Apple ID.
Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains what data Mailroom accesses, how it's used and stored, and how to delete it.
Apple and the App Store
If you got Mailroom from the App Store:
- These terms are between you and us, not Apple. We, not Apple, are solely responsible for Mailroom and its content.
- Apple has no obligation to provide any maintenance or support for Mailroom.
- If Mailroom fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any) to you. To the extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation for Mailroom.
- Apple is not responsible for addressing any claims by you or anyone else relating to Mailroom or your use of it, including product liability claims, claims that it fails to meet any legal or regulatory requirement, and claims under consumer protection or similar laws.
- If anyone claims that Mailroom or your use of it infringes their intellectual property rights, we, not Apple, are responsible for dealing with that claim.
- You confirm that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated as a "terrorist supporting" country, and are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms, and once you accept them, Apple may enforce them against you.
No warranty
Mailroom is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent permitted by law, we make no warranties of any kind, express or implied, including that the app will be error-free or uninterrupted, or fit for a particular purpose. Mailroom depends on Google's services and on your Mac and internet connection, which we don't control.
Keep your own judgement about important mail, and check that messages you send or schedule have gone out.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, mail, profits or business, arising from your use of, or inability to use, Mailroom. This includes messages that are sent late, not sent, filtered, archived or moved to Trash. To the extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to Mailroom is limited to the amount you paid for Mailroom Pro in the 12 months before the claim.
Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that can't be waived.
Changes to Mailroom and these terms
We may update Mailroom, and add, change or remove features, including Pro features. If we change these terms, we will update this page and the effective date above. If you keep using Mailroom after a change takes effect, you accept the updated terms.
Stopping using Mailroom
You can stop using Mailroom at any time. To disconnect an account, open Settings ▸ Accounts in Mailroom, select the account, click −, then Remove Account; this revokes Mailroom's access to that Google account. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription, so cancel it in your App Store account settings too.
Your license ends automatically if you break these terms. When it ends, you must stop using Mailroom.
